Aeros is an autonomous target acquisition module for unmanned aircraft. It finds targets in live video, tracks them through clutter and occlusion, and resolves them to real-world coordinates, all onboard and in real time.
Four stages, one module, zero dependence on the ground.
Neural detectors tuned for the aerial viewpoint pick out small, low-contrast targets (vehicles, personnel, aircraft) in dense scenes where general-purpose models fail. Detection runs at real-time rates on embedded GPUs.
Multi-object tracking maintains stable identities across the scene. Appearance-based re-identification recovers targets through occlusion, crossing paths, and temporary loss of line of sight.
On operator designation, Aeros shifts to single-target mode: dedicated tracking on the selected object with continuous re-acquisition logic, feeding gimbal pointing and platform guidance.
Tracked targets are geo-localized to real-world positions using platform state and camera geometry. Coordinates, tracks, and imagery flow to the operator and to mission systems for engagement decisions under human authority.
Targets from altitude are tens of pixels wide, half-hidden, and moving against cluttered ground. Aeros is engineered specifically for this regime.
